

Judith was born June 18, 1940 in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Edward and Dorothy Shreves VanHorn. She married Francis Coady "Frank" Dineen on December 23, 1955 in Hannibal, Missouri. Over the course of many years, Judi worked for the March of Dimes. She was the Deputy Recorder for Sangamon County and worked for Industrial Park Maintenance. She retired in 2008 after 28 years as a medical assistant with Dr. Ralph Gauen. Judi was a member and volunteer for the Land of Lincoln Girl Scouts, serving as both a leader and service unit chairman for 15 years. She was also a member of Christ the King Church. Judi enjoyed sewing, crafts, her vast volunteer work, and spending time with family and friends, both here and at her second home in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Judi was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Wendell W. Simnitt; one brother, Edward J. VanHorn Jr.; one sister, Ethel Mae Hardesty; two grandchildren, Anthony Cole Groth and Brandi Ann Marsh; and two great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Francis Coady Dineen, of Springfield; her sister, Patsy Lou Panky of Virginia; her brother, Garry Lee VanHorn (Tieng) of Stafford, Virginia; and her sister, Carol Sue Wiessing of Springfield. She is also survived by her four children, D'Ann Dineen Cox of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Dwayne Francis (Erin) Dineen of Farmersville, Debby Dineen (Toby) Baggett of Mobile, Alabama, and Daphney Marie (Craig) Randle of Springfield; eleven grandchildren, Teresa "ShyAnne," Frank, Rodger, Catherine "Catie," Jeremy, Joshua, Nicole "Nicki," Kacie, Francesca Anne "Chesi," Craig Jr. "C.J.," and Taylor "Cayne;" and twenty great-grandchildren. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 3:00 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield. The visitation will begin with a prayer service. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 31, 2016 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1725 S. Walnut Street, Springfield, with Rev. Scott Thelander officiating. Burial will be held following the Mass at Calvary Cemetery.
