She was born on Dec. 11, 1957 in Springfield, the daughter of the late John Addison and Lillie May (McKee) Avart, Sr.
She is survived by a son John Griffitts, a sister Linda (husband Robert) Anders, a brother John (companion Angie) Avart, Jr. all of Springfield, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and her loving guinea pig “Brownie”.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, Springfield. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014 at 11 am at Elm Street Christian Church, 3020 E. Elm St., Springfield, IL. Per her wishes, cremation rites were accorded.
