June A. Uthoff

June A. Uthoff, 77, of Springfield, passed away at 6:25 a.m. April 9, 2008 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village with her loving family at her side. June was born June 6, 1930 in Joliet, the daughter of Walter H. and Marie Voitick Schriber. They preceded her in death. She married Robert F. Uthoff on March 17, 1951 at the First Presbyterian Church in Joliet by the Reverand B. Hoffman. June was a 1948 graduate of Joliet Township High School and attended Joliet Junior College. She was employed at Kline's Department Store and the American Institute of Laundry in Joliet before relocating to Rolla, MO where she worked for the Missouri State Geologic Survey. She relocated to Springfield from Rolla in 1952 and became a member of the Wives of Illinois Associated Highway Engineers, PEO Sisterhood Chapter HU of Springfield, the United Methodist Women and a member of Woodside United Methodist Church for fifty years. She enjoyed needle work and collecting antiques. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Walter Robert Schriber; and a sister, Virginia Hammerding. She is survived by her husband, Robert F. Uthoff of Springfield; one son, William F. (wife, Lisa C.) Uthoff of Lebanon, TN; one grandson, Ryan Uthoff of Lebanon, TN; five nieces and two nephews. Family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 14, 2008 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral ceremonies will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Poole officiating.
