He was born on September 6, 1971 in Springfield, the son of Craig Bruce Seward and the late Mary Ann (Jones) Seward. He married Nancy Nelson on July 7, 2007 in Springfield and she survives.
Justin had served in the U.S. Marine Corps and would volunteer each year with their Toys for Tots Program. He worked in the Information Technology field as a contractor for the State and was also owner/operator of Seward Information Systems. Justin had a passion for working with youth and spent many years in small group ministry with Jr High students at West Side Christian Church, Springfield. He also spent time both in his youth as a camper and later in life as a counselor at Lake Springfield Christian Assembly. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion Post 32.
Justin will be remembered for his big smile and his outspoken personality, especially as it related to sports and politics. He also was devoted to his beloved pets and leaves behind three Yorkies-Charlie, Gunny and Major, along with several cats.
Besides his wife Nancy, he is survived by his father and step-mother Craig and Mary Seward of Sebastian, FL; 2 sisters, Tori (husband Bob) Patton of Springfield and Mandi (husband Eric) Jennings of Lombard, IL; 3 nephews Maddox Patton, Tommy Jennings and Beau Jennings; a niece Elle Jennings; 3 aunts, Gale (husband Bob) Pemberton, Vicki (husband Dick) Easley, and Kathy Hulen; 5 uncles, Bill Jones, Mike (wife Deb) Jones, Dan (wife Anna) Jones, Dennis Jones, and Steve Jones; and numerous cousins.
Besides his mother Mary Ann Seward, he was preceded by grandparents Bruce and Jean Seward and Mary Ellen Jones, and an aunt Bonnie Thornton.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 S. Koke Mill Rd., Springfield, where visitation will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024 from 5 to 7 pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 10 am. Burial will follow at Old Salem Cemetery, Springfield.
