Kathleen Eschenfeldt

Kathleen Eschenfeldt, 83, of Springfield died at 2:35 a.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2007 at Memorial Medical Center. Kathleen was born on January 2, 1924 in Springfield the daughter of William and Emma Hill McGuire. She married Eugene H. Eschenfeldt on September 10, 1948. Kathleen was a life long member of our community and worked at Gerber Cleaners before marrying. Once married, she was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with family, playing bingo and cards, and bowling. She was a Cubs fan, and was a happy, loving character. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her husband: Eugene H. Eschenfeldt of Springfield; one son: William (wife Christine Clark) Eschenfeldt of St. Charles; one granddaughter: Emma Eschenfeldt; one grandson: Patrick Eschenfeldt; one sister: Mildred Broyles of Springfield; one brother: Paul McGuire of New Berlin; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until the time of funeral ceremony at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, December 31, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, with Rev. Msgr. John R. Ossola celebrant. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
