Kathleen "Kathy" M. Piper

Kathy was born on August 12, 1921, in Pine Island, MN, the daughter of Hiram Samuel and Lillian (Finseth) Peterson. She married Keith G. Piper in Kimball, NE. He preceded her in death on August 14, 1975.

Kathy worked for Memorial Medical Center for more than 25 years as a coding analyst. After retirement from Memorial, she worked at Doctor’s Hospital for 15 years. Kathy was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Springfield and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed knitting, memory books, and crafting.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Juanita Persons; and two brothers.

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Terry) Schroeder of Tuscola; grandchildren, Nicholas (Misty) Strode, and Jacob (Amber) Strode; and seven great-grandchildren, Nicole, Ben, Abby, Katie, Kenedee, Kevin and Alexandria.

Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.

Memorial Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 19, 2021 at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield with Pastor Greg Busboom officiating. Due to COVID restrictions there will be limited capacity.

Private family burial will take place at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
