Kathleen Carpenter Mort

Kathleen "Kathy" Carpenter Mort, 39, of Springfield, died at 6:38 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Kathy was born September 25, 1971 in Springfield, the daughter of Thomas and Karen Perry Carpenter. She married William Mort on June 4, 1997 in Springfield. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Bill Mort of Springfield; sons, Eric, Joshua and Andrew Mort, all of Springfield; step-son, Cody (fianc, Nicole Buer) Kee of Taylorville; grandson, Colton Kee; one brother, Greg Carpenter of Springfield; three sisters, Mindy (Bill) Hammitt of Riverton, Shannon (Bill) Norris of Moline and Tonya (Vernon) Klein of Dallas, TX; two aunts and one uncle; three nieces, six nephews, two great-nephews, one great-niece and several cousins. Visitation / Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral ceremony at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 5, 2011 at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2313 S. Whittier Ave., Springfield, with Rev. Glen A. VanderKloot officiating. Graveside Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 6, 2011 at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
