Kathryn G. Murphy

Kathryn G. Murphy, 103, of Springfield, formerly of Harvel, died at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, October 18, 2003 at St. John’s Hospital Kathryn was born October 2, 1900 in Raymond, the daughter of John and Margaret Ann Todt Langen. She married William Murphy in 1920 at St. Raymond’s Church; he preceded her in death April 7, 1969. Mrs. Murphy was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Farmersville and a member of the Altar Society. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: John, Ralph and Albert Langen and two sisters: Marie Murphy and Irene Butler. She is survived by one son: Ken (wife, Lucille) Murphy of Farmersville; four grandchildren: William Dean (Wife, Marilyn Murphy) of Harvel, Edward F. (wife, Diane) Murphy of Farmersville, Karen S. (husband, Wayne) Manson of Taylorville, Donald J. (wife, Diane) Murphy of Farmersville; ten great grandchildren: Dana, Lisa, Kristina, Courtney, Carla, and Kendra Murphy, Jon and, Katie Manson, Kevin and Lauren Murphy; one great-great granddaughter: Isabella Murphy; two sisters: Louise Spencer of Carlinville, Evelyn Jordan of Raymond and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at St. Mary’s Church in Farmersville from 5-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 21, 2003. Visitation will begin with a Rosary at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2003 at St. Mary’s Church in Farmersville with Reverend David Zimmerman celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Raymond’s Cemetery in Raymond.
