Kathy S. Standefer

Kathy S. Standefer, 67, of Donna, Texas, formerly of Loami and Auburn, died on Friday, March 23, 2007 a Rio Grande Regional Health Center in McAllen, Texas. She was born on January 27, 1940 in Marion, Illinois, the daughter of Lafatte Ivan and Nettie Lucille McCarty. She married James Clifford Standefer on November 12, 1976 in Jacksonville, Illinois. She was most recently employed in the insurance department at the Springfield Clinic. She previously worked in the insurance department at the SIU School of Medicine and as a dental assistant for Dr. Rosetti and Dr. Kendrick. She enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint and various crafts. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother: James McCarty. She is survived by her husband James Clifford Standefer of Donna, Texas; three sons: Jeremy (wife, Megan) Welch of Hoopeston, Illinois, Todd Welch of Bainbridge, Georgia and Bobby (wife, Jo) Welch of Springfield; two grandchildren: Haley Welch and Todd Welch, Jr; four brothers: Martin McCarty of Marion; Dennis McCarty of Arizona, Bill McCarty and Danny McCarty both of Marion; five step-children; seven step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 29th, 2007 at McCullough-Delaney and Butler Funeral Home, 714 East Gibson St., New Berlin. Funeral Ceremonies will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 30th, 2007 at McCullough-Delaney and Butler Funeral Home, with Rev. Brandon Boyd and Rev. Anthony Bliss officiating.
