Kay Phyllis vonBehren, 83, of Loami, passed away on February 10, 2023 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. She was born on June 3, 1939 in Waverly to Howard Woods and Thelma Walker. Kay married Alfred vonBehren on December 28, 1968 in Jacksonville and he preceded her in death on August 8, 2005.
Mrs. vonBehren is survived by her children: Patti Rhodes, Mickey Myers, Dan (Tess) Rhodes and Toni (Randy) Quinn, one brother Bill Woods and her grandchildren: Kathy Oglesby, Jamie Stroh, Amber Raynolds, Chelsie Jumper, Spencer Litteral, Jessie Jacobs, Blake Matrisch, Kayla Matrisch, Kim Rhodes, Becca Rhodes, Allie Rhodes and Nicholas Quinn. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter Christin Rhodes, two sisters: Kathy Woods and Judith Burns, and one son David Rhodes.
Kay worked for the State of Illinois, SPARC, and for Memorial Medical Center as a CNA/technician.
According to her wishes there will not be a public service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice or flowers can be sent to Taylorville Skilled Nursing and Rehab.
