Keith Perks

Keith Patrick Perks, 49, of Springfield, passed away at 3:05 a.m. on Monday, September 3, 2018 at St. Johns Hospital. Keith was born on December 5, 1968 in Springfield, the son of George Melvin and Susan Marie Franke Perks. Keith was a graduate of Griffin High School and received a Bachelor of Business Administration from ISU. For 25 years, he worked for St. Johns Hospital and later was a cook for VFW Post 755. He enjoyed music, concerts, fishing, cooking, spending time with friends and family, and was an avid Cardinals fan. He was preceded in death by his mother; infant brother; and grandparents. He is survived by his father, George (wife, Yvonne) Perks of Springfield; three siblings, Christine (husband, Brian Russell) Perks of Peoria, Michelle Hunter of St. George, UT, and Angela Cumby of Chatham; two nieces, Amelia Russell and Laken Cumby; nephew, Cole Cumby; several aunts, Melinda (husband, Jim) and Ellen (Franke) Looker; uncles, Bill Franke (wife, Loretta), Tom Franke (wife, Sandy) and Tim Franke (wife, Kathy); a multitude of cousins; and many special friends, including Ryan Rempher and Kent Argenta, both of Springfield. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at VFW Post 755, 2211 Old Jacksonville Rd., Springfield.
