Kenneth J. Waage

He was born on April 6, 1946, in Chicago, IL, the son of Jack C. and Lorraine (McKim) Waage. Ken married Victoria Lewis in August 1971, in Springfield, IL.

Ken graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1968 with a bachelor’s degree in actuary science. He went on to have a 30+ year career with IBM as a programmer, training instructor, and project manager, among other positions.

He was known among his friends and family as having a steady, calming presence, and a genial, sunny personality. Ken’s interests included jazz and other music, photography, food and wine, gardening, and supporting the St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Illini teams. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Victoria Waage of Springfield; children, Pam (Jeff) Bonacorsi of Springfield and Chris (Andrea Behm) Waage of Los Angeles, CA; grandchildren, Talon, Ethan, and Olivia Bonacorsi; siblings, Kim, Susie, and Michael Waage, all of Texas; and a first great-grandchild is on the way.

Cremation will be accorded.
