

Kim Ellenburg, 53, of Springfield, died at 10:10 p.m. on Monday, November 28, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center. Kim was born on August 20, 1963 in Springfield, the daughter of W. Dean and Shirley L. Fickas McGrew. She married Phillip H. Ellenburg on November 12, 1983 at Roanoke Baptist Church in Springfield. Kim graduated from Lanphier High School in 1981. She worked for the State of Illinois, Roosevelt Insurance Co., Phillips Brothers Printers, and UIS. She also had her own home daycare, and most recently worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois where she was employed for the past 8 years. Kim was a member of Roanoke Baptist Church and a past member of the Sportsman's Club. She enjoyed reading, riding motorcycles, target shooting, NASCAR, and spending time with her family and granddaughter. She was known to be a free-spirited, loving, strong, and selfless wife and mother. Kim was preceded in death by her father and her father-in-law, James E. Ellenburg. She is survived by her husband, Phillip; mother, Shirley L. McGrew; mother-in-law, Willia Ellenburg; children, Kayla Ellenburg (fianc, Tony Lardomita) of Norman, OK, Kayse Ellenburg of Springfield and Ryan Ellenburg of Springfield; grandchild, Sophia Mae Ellenburg; siblings, Deborah McCarthy of Springfield, William McGrew of Decatur, Brenda (husband, Robbie) Morton of Springfield and Christina Esper of Springfield; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 3:00 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield.
