Allen was born June 6, 1935 in Nicholson, KY the son of Allen Woodrow and Lydia Catherine Brown Butler. He married Muriel (Shepherd) on Jan. 25, 1964 in Hinsdale. He is survived by his wife: sons, Doug(Sue) of IL; Scott (Maki) of Japan and David (Kara) of RI; five grandchildren; brother, John(Sally) of KY; cousins ,nieces and nephews.
He earned a BS from the Univ. of KY, a MS degree from NCSU, and served in the Army 1959-1961. He worked for Intl. Harvester, DICKEY-john, retiring from Foss in 2004. Professional organizations ASABE, GEAPS and GEMA. He was a member of Illini Country CC, Civil War Round Table and KY Colonels.
