To the McClure Family,

My thoughts and prayers are with you and Matt at this time. I had the pleasure of knowing Matt through Sigma Chi at Illinois and have many wonderful memories to cherish and carry forward. He brightened a room wherever he went and was a lot like magic - bringing joy, defying the odds to make the unbelievable seem believable. I'm grateful to have known him and shared many laughs together.

I met Matt when volunteering at DRES. Finally, I had to ask, “Excuse me, aren’t you from Beardstown? I’m from Winchester.” We chatted a bit about being from West Central Illinois and our sports teams. We crossed paths quite often as we both worked for DIA. I would be sent over to the ticket office during high volume days. Matt would joke that I was the person of last resort when walking into the office. He was a thoughtful friend and will be missed. My condolences to the McClure family.

Please know our thoughts are with you and that we are all extremely grateful for every instance of advice and friendship you’ve been kind enough to extend to us.

I was privileged to have Matt as a student at Beardstown High School many years ago. He was one of those unforgettable spirits who made my job such a joy. To the McClure family, may all of the wonderful memories of Matt’s well-spent life help you through this tough time. He leaves a big hole in the universe.

I worked alongside Matt "in the trenches" at the box office for DIA many years ago. He was such a fun guy, always quick to make a joke and get everyone to smile. Prayers to your family.

Milt, time has passed and I hope you remember me. I worked for the Dept of Rehab. You graciously served as a member of our Transition Committee. So sorry for you and Suzanne to hear of the passing of Matthew. Please know that we grieve with you in your loss. Matthew was certainly an accomplished young man. In our thoughts and prayers.

Matt was a few years older than me at the University of Illinois, and we were in the Sigma Chi Fraternity together. What I remember about Matt is that he was always quick with a joke. He always brightened up a room. He is one of the most postive, upbeat person I've met. Thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

Matthew was a great guy and a remarkable spirit. I was lucky to know him from the time he was very young as I got to babysit for Kelly and him. He was always full of fun and spent time trying out pranks on me even then. I'm thankful for his life and friendship and sorry for the loss of his spirit in the physical world. Rest in peace Matthew. You lived life to the max!
