L. Richard Morris, 88, of Columbia, MO, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center. Richard was born December 5, 1921, in Fayette, MO, the son of Francis and Zelma Pitcher Morris. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in WW II in several major battles. Richard went on to become an over the road truck driver and later retired as a union laborer. He is survived by his children, Richard (Jan) Morris, Lorene Becker, David (Denise) Morris, and Raeanne Manci-Merritt; his grandchildren, Rebecca, Jason, Kathy Ann, and Danielle; several great grandchildren; and by his friend and former wife, Frances "Fritz" O' Hare. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. A private family burial will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
