Larry Leigh Evans

He was born on December 4, 1946, the son of Clarence Russell and Velma Louise (Meadors) Evans. He married Betty M. Orr on September 17, 1972, in Texarkana, AK.

Larry graduated from Gradwohl School of Laboratory Techniques in St. Louis, Mo. He and Betty were Medical Technologists for many hospitals in IL, CO, GA, TX and OK. Larry was a member of the NRA and a gun repairer. He was active in the Stephen A. Douglas chapter of the order of DeMolay. He loved music and enjoyed playing the clarinet until his COPD made it very difficult. Larry loved playing his guitar and listening to his vinyl records.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Betty.

Larry is survived by his first wife, Barbara Kay (Bolin) Mulvany of Overland Park, KS; son, Jim (Katy) Evans of Olathe, KS; daughters, Shari Lynn (Paul) Loeffler of Blackfoot, ID and Karla (Wayne) Timm of Bloomington, IL; sister, Gaye Evans; stepchildren, Terry Earnest, Teresa O’Quinn and Toni Tanner; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.

The family is being served by Boardman-Smith Funeral Home, 800 S. Grand Ave. W., Springfield.
