

Lee A. "Bud" Harton, 75, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2016, at 6:40 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center. He was born on December 18, 1940 to Alfred and Juanita (Jackson) Harton. He graduated from Feitshans High School and joined the U.S. Navy in June of 1959. He spent 4 years active duty as a boilermaker on the USS Boxer, stationed out of Juneau, Alaska. Upon leaving the Navy, he returned to Springfield, IL and worked at Allis Chalmers. After a few years, he was hired by the City of Springfield, in the water department of CWLP. He worked there for more than 30 years and retired as a supervisor of the water department. Upon retirement, Lee spent his winters in Arnold, FL, where he enjoyed fishing on his boat and playing cards with his friends. He spent his summers in Springfield, IL enjoying time with his family and volunteering to help others. He is survived by his wife, Carole (Gresoski) (married August 7, 1977); his daughters, Mary Feagans (Joseph) and Deanna Harton; grandchildren, Amber Feagans, Lauren Feagans, and Zachary Morrison Harton; sisters, Janice Dullenty (Maurice), Patricia Hill (Robert), and Alice Marks (Ernie); and nieces and nephews, DeAnne Potter, Angie Fox, Allison Hill, Evelyn Kluzek Rusciolelli, Sandy Veith, and David Kluzek. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, son, and friend. He will be dearly missed by many. Graveside Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 22, 2016 at Camp Butler National Cemetery with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County and the United States Navy. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the cemetery immediately prior to the ceremony.
