She was born on February 11, 1945 in Atterberry, IL, the daughter of the late Phillip and Alice (Ferguson) Vaughn. She married Roy Harris, Sr. on November 22, 1963 and he preceded her in death in 1992.
Leona was a homemaker and devoted her life to her family.
She is survived by 5 children, Roy (wife Connie) Harris, Jr. of Athens, IL, Troy (companion Donna Edstrom) Harris of Springfield, Leona Wise, Theresa Bricker, and Michael (wife Catie) Harris, all of Petersburg, IL; 19 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter Alice Harris and 12 siblings.
Services are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield, where visitation will be held on Monday, July 11, 2022 from 10 am until time of the funeral service at 11 am. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, Springfield.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
