Bless you Shirley . . .We join you in your feelings and loss. Les was a good Christian Gentleman and respected by so many of us. Knowing his faith, he is in a far better place. Jesus said, "I am the Resurrection and the life, he that believes in me will never die."

Les was a great man. I worked with him at Camp Lincoln. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of sorrow.

I was sorry to hear of Les' passing. When my family and I moved to Springfield in 1978 and I joined the ILARNG JAG section, Les was about the first person that I met. As a young Captain with no experience with the Guard Les was always willing to answer questions and generally keep me from making mistakes (a full time job, I might add.) He had a gift for giving the lawyers the illusion that they were in charge...but we all knew better.
Since leaving Springfield in 1990 I have only infrequently been back but I have often thought of Les. If I had to sum up Les in one word it would be "Gentleman". The world can ill afford the loss of a Gentleman like Les.
Again, my condolences. You, your family and Les will be in my prayers.
