Leta Elizabeth Knox

Leta Elizabeth Knox, 85 of Springfield died at 4:30 pm on Wednesday, June 30, 2004 at at Sangamon Care Center. Leta was born on March 17, 1919 in Waverly, the daughter of Walter Rouland and Sarah Elizabeth Miner. She married Eugene T. Knox Jr. in 1959 in Taylorville. Leta worked at the Sears Service Center, retiring eight years ago. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Eugene, her parents and two sisters, Alta Reed and Leona Duewer, and a brother Elvis Rouland. She is survived by two sons, Eugene T. (wife, Shelia) Knox III and Paul (fiance’, Anne Craig) Knox both of Springfield, and three daughters, Marguerite (husband, Gregory) Kirkpatrick of Holbrook, NY, Anna (husband, George) Schramm of Ronkonkoma, NY and Donna Bryant of Pensacola, FL.; eleven grandchildren: Ron Bryant, Tammy Bryant-Clark, Tina Williams, Kenny Bryant, Andrea FFrench, Krista Schramm, Joseph Kirkpatrick, Mandy Knox, Victoria Knox and Rob & Tom Craig, ten great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, one sister Vera Rhea of Waverly, and one brother Harold (wife Vivian) Rouland of Springfield, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at Camp Butler National Cemetery with The Rev. Dr. Thomas C. Barnett officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
