

Lillie Mae 'Cricket' O'Shea, nee Daugherty, 82, of O'Fallon, born June 9, 1925, in Commerce, Mo., died Friday, July 6, 2007, at her home in O'Fallon. Mrs. O'Shea was a wonderful and dedicated homemaker who enjoyed cooking, laughing and taking care of her family. She was the third place winner in the Illinois State Chilli cook off with her famous 'Lillie's Chilli.' She was preceded in death by her parents, Uriel Price and Johnie, nee Gilpin, Daugherty; and one brother, Jack Daugherty. Surviving are her loving husband, John R. O'Shea; five children, Jeanne O'Shea of Springfield, Michael (Debbie) O'Shea of San Antonio, John P. (Sarah) O'Shea of Pawnee, Ann Neighbors of Arnold, Mo., and Jill (Terry) Lane of O'Fallon; grandchildren, Doug (Michelle) O'Shea of Springfield, Jennifer (Tim) Rottinghaus of Rochester, Jason Woody of Champaign, Aaron Kossman of Bloomington, Ryan O'Shea of San Antonio, Grace Lane of O'Fallon, Suzanne O'Shea of Pawnee and Jonathan Lane of O'Fallon; great-grandchildren, Brianna O'Shea of Springfield, Jacob Rottinghaus of Rochester, Zachary Rottinghaus of Rochester and Lillian O'Shea of San Antonio; brother, Harry (Janet) Daugherty of Springfield; and two sisters, Camilla (and the late Bill) Dowling of Springfield and Marie Smith of Springfield. A memorial gathering will be held from 4:00 pm. to 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 20, 2007, at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield.
