Linda was born on October 5, 1937, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the daughter of Charles W. and Dorothy E. (Brown) Prater. On January 11, 1958, she married Vaughn Beeman in Indianapolis, and he survives.
Also surviving are her two children, Jay (Diane) Beeman, of Tanzania, East Africa, and Parian (Rodney) Hull, of Springfield, Illinois; four grandchildren, Lyndi (Nick) Reed, Wade (Tiffany) Beeman, Jordan (Mya) Hull, and Landin (Olivia) Hull; eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her sister-in-law, Beth Prater. Linda loved her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who treasured time spent with those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Terry Prater.
Linda worked for many years as Supervisor of Support for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the Springfield office. She retired in January of 2000 after many years of dedicated service. After retirement, Linda continued to use her talent at MSF&W, also in Springfield.
Linda loved the Lord and found great joy in serving others through her church and community. She was a devoted member of West Side Christian Church, where her husband, Vaughn, served as senior minister for many years. Linda faithfully walked alongside him throughout his ministry, serving in countless ways. She taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and was always willing to serve wherever she was needed. Her faith, love, kindness and example will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.
