She was born on June 19, 1953, in Springfield, the daughter of the late George and Stella Mae (Landrith) Benedict. She married Roger Davis on May 6, 1972, at Pasfield Southern Baptist Church in Springfield.
Linda was co-owner with her husband of R.D. Davis Heating and Air in Springfield. She had previously worked as a waitress as well as in restaurant management. Linda previously attended Pasfield Southern Baptist Church. She helped found the Melrose Subdivision Neighborhood Association, where she served as secretary. She was active in the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and served as a room mother while her children and grandchildren were in school.
Linda's favorite times were spent with her grandkids and vacationing with family. Linda loved having family over for dinner on Sunday. Her biggest asset was her family. Her favorite trips were Alaskan cruises. Her hobbies included cooking and gardening. She enjoyed letting the grandkids pick fresh vegetables from the garden.
Linda is survived by her husband, Roger Davis Sr. of Springfield; 2 children, Dawn (husband Shane) Sarginson and Roger (wife Jamie) Davis Jr., both of Sherman, IL; 5 grandchildren, Allison and Logan Sarginson, Roger III, Emma, and Ryan Davis; 2 sisters, Norma Branner and Nancy (husband Stan) Buecker, both of Springfield, a brother Gene Benedict of Springfield; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother George Benedict, Jr.
Services are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield, where visitation will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023, from 11 am until the funeral service at 1 pm. Rev. Milton Bost will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Old Salem Cemetery, Springfield.
