Linda "Gracie" DeSalle

Linda was born on December 29, 1929 in Springfield, the daughter of Oscar and Pauline Ford Vogle. She married Robert Joseph DeSalle on June 27, 1952 in Springfield; he preceded her in death in 1976.

Linda was a Lanphier High School graduate. She was primarily a homemaker, but also worked in customer service at Central IL Light Company. Linda enjoyed painting, drawing, and reading, but her greatest pastime was following and supporting the lives of her children and grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings, Larry, George and Evelyn.

She is survived by her 6 children, Robert (wife, Erin) DeSalle, Jr. of New York, NY, Rollin DeSalle of Springfield, Mary (husband, Bill) Moore of Salt Lake City, UT, Lynn (husband, John, Jr.) Eck of Springfield, Daniel (wife, Kathy) DeSalle of Springfield, and Matt (wife, Kelly) DeSalle of Springfield; 22 grandchildren, Miriam, Sonya, and Bo DeSalle, Desiree DeSalle-Baron, Rollin “RJ” James DeSalle Jr, Taylor Williams, Dawn Dudine, Bill, Ian, Mason, Erin, and Brandon Moore, John “Peter”, Ryan, Benjamin, and Catie Eck, Aidan, Sienna, Elizabeth, Samuel, William and Ava DeSalle; 7 great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (wife, Mary) Vogle of Azle, TX; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation and Funeral Mass: Family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1930 Barberry Dr., Springfield. A Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Clinton P. Honkomp, OP, celebrant. Illinois COVID-19 guidance will be followed, requiring face coverings.

Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
