She was born on April 1, 1947, the daughter of William W. and Patricia Sullivan Downey.
Linda attended Blessed Sacrament elementary school, and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy High School. Linda was employed in the Secretary of State Office for 40 years. Linda loved to watch TV and solve crosswords and dot to dot puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by sister, Patricia “Toz” Downey of Aurora, CO; and cousins, Sister Maureen O’Connor OSF of Springfield, and Kitsie Jaspen of Burlington, IA.
Memorial Gathering and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 10, 2023, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and Meals on Wheels.
