

Linda Kay Rachford, 66, of Springfield, died at 12:43 a.m. on Monday, October 19, 2009 at Memorial Medical Center. Linda was born June 14, 1943 in Springfield, the daughter of Edgar and Marie Arlene Brodgen Boston. She married John D. Rachford on April 18, 1970 in Macomb. Linda graduated from Lamphier High School. She was the owner and operator of the Bow Wow Barber Shop for over 47 years. She was a member of Abate and Dog Groomers Association. Linda loved to ride her Goldwing Trike, loved animals and traveling. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert Boston; and a grandson Gabriel Lowell Goldsberry. She is survived by her husband, John D. Rachford of Springfield; son John A. (wife, Tricia) Goldsberry of Lincoln; two grandchildren, Emberly Kay Bollinger and Anna Michelle Goldsberry; two sisters, Donna (husband, Robert) Lowder of Pleasant Plains and Judy (husband, Donald) Parrish of Auburn; two brothers, John (wife, Neva) Boston of Branson, MO and Greg (wife, Kathy) Boston of Riverton; and several nieces and nephews. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A Memorial Ceremony will follow.
