She was born on October 2, 1947, in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Elmer A. and Etta H. (Marker) Carmean.
Linda was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church where she worked in the cafeteria and helped with pre-school. Linda attended Browns Business College. She also worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield. Linda enjoyed cooking, baking, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Brandon Palmer; and brother, E.A. Carmean Jr.
Linda is survived by her son, Chris Scherf of Springfield; daughter, Mindy (Brian) Palmer of Springfield; and grandchildren, Lindsay and Joe Palmer, and Ean and Hannah Scherf, all of Springfield.
Memorial Gathering and Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Butler Funeral Home - Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, IL. A Memorial Ceremony will follow at 11:00 a.m.
