Lloyd H. Winhold

Lloyd H. Winhold, 93, of Springfield, passed away at his home on March 14, 2018. He was born on November 27, 1924 in Springfield, IL to Joseph H. and Katherine L. Scheffler Winhold. Lloyd married Dorothy Wright on April 12, 1947 and she preceded him in death on June 16, 2012

Mr. Winhold is survived by his children: daughter Evelyn (Eric) Ehrig of Chandler, AZ and sons Kenneth (Letitia) Winhold of Springfield, IL, Larry (Carole-Lee) Winhold of Chandler, AZ, Curtis (Kathleen) Winhold of Rochester, IL, and James (Joan) Winhold of Pleasant Plains, IL, 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Mr. Winhold was a US Navy Veteran serving in World War II and a Life Member of VFW Post #755. He worked as an electrician with the IBEW #193 for forty-two years retiring in 1987 and he was a member of IBEW for over seventy years. Lloyd volunteered in the community in many capacities including Boy Scout leader, youth baseball coach, and took on many roles supporting church activities. He was a person of strong faith and an active member of Kumler United Methodist Church his entire life. Above all, he demonstrated an unconditional love for his wife and family.

The family extends great appreciation to Memorial Home Services Hospice for its loving support in providing comfort care for Lloyd and his family during his final weeks.

A visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM on March 23, 2018 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen Street. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on March 24, 2018 at the funeral home with Rev. George Heineman. Burial to follow the services at Roselawn Memorial Park. The family will meet friends from 9:00 AM until the time of service on March 24, 2018 at the funeral home.
