

Lloyd E. Wright, 87, of Phoenix, AZ, formerly of Springfield, died at 8:59 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2003 at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy. Lloyd was born July 22, 1915 in Guthrie Center, IA the son of Ewing and Blanche Rising Wright. He married Marian Cavanaugh in 1940; she preceded him in death 1989. Mr. Wright was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of Douglas Avenue Methodist Church. He was also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Everett and Olen Wright and two sisters: Iola Ford and Mildred Whetstone. He survived by one daughter: Lanita Ward (husband, Frank) Anuci of Springfield; two grandchildren; Kevin (wife, Karen) Ward of Normal, IL, Susan Ward of Chatham; three great grandchildren; six brothers: Lynn (wife, Helen), Dean (wife, Phyllis), Dell (wife, Wilma), Rolland (wife, Cheryl), Keith (wife, Mary Jo) and Merle Wright and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home from 12-1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2003. Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2003 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Reverend Jean Hembrough officiating. Burial will be at Chatham Memorial Cemetery.
