Lora Lynn Schertz

Lora Lynn Schertz, 51, of Chatham, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at her residence. She was born May 6, 1965, in Streator to Donald L and Gladys M. Wudtke Schmillen. She married Jeffrey Dean Schertz July 11, 1987. Lora enjoyed making jewelry, quilting and spending time in her garden. She was a member of the Springfield Art Association and attended Christ the King Church. She was a PC support specialist at DICKEY-john, where she worked for over 16 years. Lora will be greatly missed by her husband of 29 years, Jeff; children: Emily Schertz of Madison, IL, Jacob Schertz of Bloomington and Anna Schertz, at home; parents, Don and Gladys Schmillen of Toluca, IL; brothers, Tony (Susan) Schmillen of Sherman and Steve (Amanda) Schmillen of Ottawa; sister, Valerie (Gary) Conrady of Lincoln; In-laws: Jim (Marilyn) Schertz of Stanford and Connie (Chuck) Winks of Normal; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation rites will be accorded before services by Cremation Services of Central Illinois, Chatham. Her family will greet friends from 10am until the time of the memorial service at noon, Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham, IL, 62629.
