Loretta M. Green

Loretta M. Green, 92, of Springfield, died at 6:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2004 at St. Joseph’s Home. Loretta was born April 1, 1912 in Springfield, the daughter of Charles Edward and Elizabeth P. Busch Green. She graduated from Ursuline Academy and attended Springfield Junior College (Springfield College in Illinois). She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the parish Ladies Guild, Ursuline Alumni Association, Springfield College in Illinois Alumni Association and St. Louise de Marillac Guild. She formerly served on the first Parish Council of St. Joseph Church and the Advisory Board of Ursuline Academy. She was also a member of the Dominican Laity for over 30 years. She was employed for 41 years in the news room of the State Journal Register. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister: Edna B. Green and uncle: Edward E. Busch. She is survived by several cousins. The family will receive friends from 9-10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2004 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1345 N. 6th St. Springfield, IL 62702. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2004 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Thomas B. Holinga celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
