

Ray Broyles, 79, of Springfield, died at 9:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at Memorial Medical Center. Lorris Raymond Broyles was born March 13, 1925 in Hartford, IL the son of Lorris Emory and Laura Hunter Broyles. He married Mildred McGuire on April 9, 1944 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Springfield. Mr. Broyles was a graduate of Feitshans High School in Springfield. He was employed by Fiat Allis as a tool & die maker; he retired after 30 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Mildred of Springfield; two daughters: Corrine Frisch (husband, Ethan Lewis) of Springfield and Pam (husband, Glenn) Davis of Glendale, AZ; three grandchildren: Kersten Davis of Phoenix, AZ, Krista (husband, Scott) Besst of Bay Point, CA, and Nora Frisch of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 2004 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6h St., Springfield. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Warren Raasch officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
