Lou was born on December 4, 1950 in St. Louis, MO, the son of Louis Merril Douglas, Sr. and Gladys Mae Stokes Douglas.
Lou earned a doctorate degree and owned and operated his own business.
He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Mary Talkington.
He is survived by his daughters, Robyn (husband, John) Maye of Valrico, FL and Brandi (husband, Maurice) Green of Key West, FL; one son, John Taylor of Kentucky; grandchildren, Breanna Douglas and two others; mother, Gladys Douglas of Caseyville, IL; companion, Pat Taylor of Springfield; and two siblings, Richard “Gene” (wife, Lorie) Douglas of Benton, IL and Michael (wife, Dee) Douglas of MO.
Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield. A Funeral Ceremony will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Roger Grimmett officiating.
Private burial will be held at a later date at Rochester Cemetery.
