

He was born in Saint Louis, Missouri August 4, 1964, the son of Loretta J. (Griffith) Jyawook and Jwamair Jyawook. His parents both preceded him in death.
Marco was a graduate of Lanphier High School in 1982 and then went on to graduate from Missouri Technical School. Throughout his career, he earned several certifications in IT. Marco served over 30 years at HSHS St. John’s Hospital, last as the IT Project Manager.
Marco was a well-known expert in Billiards. Since he was tall enough to reach the table, Marco loved the game and would travel as far as Las Vegas to compete. He was known for his membership in several leagues including VNEA, BCA, and ACS. One of his most memorable and famous matches was with Minnesota Fats. Marco also enjoyed golf, vacationing with his family to tropical climates, and was a lover of sports including the Saint Louis Cardinals. He would even travel for the Super Bowl every year with friends and family.
He married his wife Cathy Creel, also a well-known and accomplished Billiard player, in New City, Illinois on September 10, 2005. They enjoyed a fitting wedding reception at Star Ship Billiards, one of their favorite places, with family and friends.
Surviving are his wife Cathy, his three children: Charlotte Jyawook of Springfield, Marshall (wife Ashley) Jyawook of Hillsboro, IL and Shelby Pokora of Denver, CO. He has two grandchildren: Nina Todaro and Blake Jyawook and his canine companion, Stella. Also surviving are his sister; Jehan (husband Carlo) Valure of Watson, LA and his brother, Jaimie Jyawook of Oxford, MI. There are several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Cremation Rites will be accorded. Family and friends are invited to a memorial gathering and sharing of stories and memories on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Bisch Funeral Home West 2931 S. Koke Mill Rd. Springfield, IL
