

She was born in Mason County near San Jose on Dec. 3, 1924 the daughter of Edwin and Edith Stone Smith. She married Frank H. Nestler June 12, 1945. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and a brother.
Mrs. Nestler was a graduate of San Jose Community High School and Brokaw School of Nursing. As the wife of a United Methodist Minister, she and her husband served United Methodist Churches in Lerna, Chrisman, Charleston, Jacksonville, Kankakee, Springfield and Decatur. She was active with the church nurseries, pre schools and kitchens.She was a member of Laurel United Methodist Church in Springfield and United Methodist Women.
She is survived by her husband, Rev. Dr. Frank H. Nestler; Son, Steve(wife,Connie) Nestler of Elmhurst; daughters, Jill(husband, Dan) Dannhorn of Davis and Kristie(husband, James) Zimmermann of Chatham; a brother, Bernard Smith of Bloomington; five grandchildren, Kirsten Nestler of Seattle, Andrew Dannhorn of Portland, Ryan Dannhorn of Mt. Morris and Kourtney Zimmermann and Zack Zimmermann both of Chatham and a great granddaughter, Ella Dannhorn.
Memorial services will be held 2:00PM Wednesday Sept. 17, 2008 at Laurel United Methodist Church, Springfield with Rev. Dr. John Hamilton officiating.Family graveside services will be held at Greenhill Cemetery near San Jose. Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
