

Margaret R.Kochman - Curtis, 80, a lifelong resident of Springfield, died at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at her home. She was born on January 24, 1926 in Springfield, the daughter of Carl and Emelia Stach Kochman. She married Charles Curtis on August 26, 1972 in Springfield; he preceded her in death on May 31, 2002. Margaret retired in 1986 as head cashier from Kroger Grocery Store after thirty years of employment. She then managed the kitchen for Grant Middle School for three years. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church and a member of “Lunch Bunch” and also attended bible study at church. She served as a previous board member of AARP and volunteer at Concordia Lutheran School. Margaret was a good hearted, fun loving person with a great sense of humor. She was a very good cook and good “grandma” who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: William and Karl Kochman and five sisters: Freda Schultz, Emily Wiebking, Mary Sabo, Helen Arney and Erna Willoughby. She is survived by one son: Charles E. Collins, Jr. of Springfield, one daughter, Sherry L. (husband, Matthew) Moralas of Thornton, CO; two step daughters: Carol (husband, Frank) Santoro of Monroe, WI and Helen (husband, Steve) Reavis of Riverton ; one sister: Ruth Alwerdt of Springfield; eight grandchildren, many great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family welcomes friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 23, 2006 at Concordia Lutheran Church, 2300 Wilshire Rd., Springfield with Pastor James Hennig officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Concordia Lutheran Church, 2300 Wilshire Rd., Springfield, IL 62703. The family of Margaret R.
