Margie Lee Creel, 76, of Chatham, passed away on Saturday July 7, 2018 at her residence. She was born on January 16, 1942 in Springfield to Gerald and Velma Roberts Montgomery. Margie married Donald P. Creel in Springfield on February 2, 1974 and he preceded her in death on November 21, 2017.
Mrs. Creel is survived by her children: Sherry (Tracy) Tyson of Springfield and Sheryl (Scott) Budke and Donald Lee Creel both of Chatham, one niece Kathy Goldsby and one nephew Christopher Goldsby both of Springfield, two grandchildren: Cory Hudelson and T.J. Wright, one great-granddaughter Marlee Hudelson, two great-grandsons: Bentley Groves and Nathan Hamra, one sister Ruth Smith and one brother Mickey (Patty) Montgomery both of Springfield, her special cousins and friends from Texas: Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Montgomery, Jerry Montgomery, John Montgomery, Joe Montgomery and Jimmy Smith, special friend Verna Clement and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her brother Jack Montgomery.
Margie worked as a secretary and then at the Chatham IGA. She would go mall walking with her husband Donald which always turned into mall shopping. Margie enjoyed antiquing, crafts, going to the movies and playing poker and the slot machines.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00pm on Wednesday July 11, 2018 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen Street. The family will meet friends from 5:00pm until the time of service Wednesday at Bisch and Son. Burial will be private at Roselawn Memorial Park.
