Marian Spears

Marian Spears, 93, of Springfield died at 7:40 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2008 at Memorial Medical Center. Marian was born on August 25, 1914 in Carlinville, the daughter of Charles and Nellie Karnes Geiser; they preceded her in death. She was married to V.T. "Bud" Spears who also preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her granddaughter, Kelli Hogan; her great granddaughter, Lily Hillyer; and her brother, Dick Geiser. Marian is survived by her daughters, Carol (husband, Robert) Hogan of Springfield, IL and Sue Buoy of Chatham, IL; one grandson, Kevin Hogan of Estonia; her granddaughters, Stacey (husband, Dean) Graven of Springfield and Kristi (husband, Eric) Hillyer of Petersburg; her great-grandsons James and Jacob Kohlrus; her great granddaughters Chloe and Ava Hillyer; as well as a niece and four nephews. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 17, 2008 at Church of the Little Flower, 800 Stevenson Dr., Springfield, IL 62703. Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 17, 2008 at Church of the Little Flower with Rev. Msgr. John R. Ossola and Rev. John Nolan, con-celebrants.
