

She was born September 19, 1945 the daughter of Sidney A. and Anne Blazis Ackerman. She married J. Lawrence “Larry” Tick in Springfield, June 14, 1980 and he survives.
She is also survived by her son, David Quentin of Dallas, TX, her daughter, Anne Joan of Alexandria, VA, an aunt, Irene Blazis of Springfield two nieces and several cousins.
Early in her professional career, Marianne was an elementary teacher in the St. Louis Schools. She also worked for the State of Illinois Department of Aging. She was a member of Temple B’rith Shalom, the Springfield Jewish Federation, and Hadassah, was the past President of the Springfield Women’s Symphony Guild, and volunteered with the Chaverim. She was a friend of Bill.
Marianne had a passion for traveling. She also was an excellent cook, and an avid gardener.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home 505 E. Allen, where funeral services will be held on Monday March 28, 2011 at 11:00 am with Rabbi Michael Datz officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, those that wish may direct memorial contributions to the Springfield Jewish Federation Cheverim or a charity of choice.
