She was born on May 10, 1941, in Ashland, IL, to George Eugene and Lola Alberta (Pettit) Cline. She married William “Larry” Braker on March 2, 1963, in Pleasant Plains, IL, and he preceded her in death on August 29, 2020.
Marie is survived by her three daughters, Cheryl (Brandon) Zeone of Washington, IL, Brenda (Steve) Poggemiller of New Berlin, IL, and Donna (David) Clark of Pleasant Plains, IL; her brother, Frank Cline, of Pleasant Plains, IL; six grandchildren, Michael and Brandon Lee Zeone, Kristi and Brittany Poggemiller, and Michelle and Megan Clark; and three great-grandchildren, Blake, Alys and Kinslee Zeone. She is also survived by an aunt and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Marie worked at Horace Mann Insurance in the accounting department from 1958 to 1963. She was the secretary for approximately ten years at Zion Lutheran Church where she was a member. She was also a church organist for many years and was an accompanist for music contests and musicals. Marie enjoyed being a farmer’s wife and helping Larry in the fields at harvest. She was a huge sports fan and loved spending time with her girls and her grandchildren.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred and Robert Cline.
Services are under the direction of Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 S. Koke Mill Road, Springfield, where visitation will be held on Monday, April 18, 2022, from 9:30 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will also be at the funeral home with Rev. Donald Pritchard officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Plains Cemetery, Pleasant Plains, IL.
