Marie Anna Henderson

Marie Anna Henderson, 86, of Sherman, formerly of Springfield and Decatur, died at 4:05 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2005 at the Villa East Healthcare Center. Marie was born on July 2, 1918 in Chicago, the daughter of Dennis Henry and Josephine Myers Manning. She married James E. Henderson in 1942 in Chicago; he died on November 9, 1973. She graduated from Providence High School and attended Brown’s Business College in Chicago. She retired from Sears Roebuck and Company in 1982. Following her retirement she was employed by AARP and Visiting Nurses Association of Central Illinois in Decatur until 1993. She was also preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by two daughters: Lori M. (husband, Henry) Farrington and Joanne L. Sullivan both of Springfield; one son: Dennis J. (wife, Pat) Henderson of Chillicothe; four grandchildren; Mike and John Gaither both of Springfield, Anne M. Sullivan of Bradley and Jamie Henderson of Chillicothe. The family will receive friends from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 6, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Graveside Services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday, June 6, 2005 at Graceland Cemetery, Decatur with Father Joe Molloy, officiating.
