Marie J. Vorreyer

Born in Chicago on May 12, 1935, she was the daughter of Joseph and Christine (Parrillo) Mallardi. Marie married the love of her life, Harold Vorreyer, Jr., on May 11, 1957, in Franklin Park, IL. Together, they shared 69 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and devotion to family.

Marie graduated from Proviso High School with the class of 1953, where she met Harold. In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling, cooking a good meal, and spending time with her family. Through her compassion and love for those around her, it was apparent that she had been touched by an angel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Esther (Dave) Bojko.

Marie is survived by her husband, Harold; children, Christine (Byron) Cudmore of Springfield, Deb (Gary) Harvey of Chaska, MN, Joe Vorreyer of Springfield, Wayne (Sherri) Vorreyer of Murrayville, Maria (Dave) Woodward of Gold Canyon, AZ, Mike (Susan) Vorreyer of Chatham, and John (Melissa) Vorreyer of Springfield; 14 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

A private family burial was held at Camp Butler National Cemetery in honor of Harold’s dedicated service in the United States Air Force.
