She was born on May 26, 1949, in Massena, NY, the daughter of Albert F. and Anna Marie (Szarka) Moquin. Marilyn married Ashish P. Choudry on May 1, 1982, in Springfield. He preceded her in death, on August 25, 2005.
Marilyn earned her bachelor’s degree in nursery education in 1969 from State University of New York, her bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 1973 from Quincy College, and her master’s degree in human development counseling in 1978 from Sangamon State University. She went on to teach for over 15 years, before staying at home to raise her children. Marilyn was a faithful member of the Church of the Little Flower, since 1982. She enjoyed spending time with her family (especially her grandchildren), and volunteering at the library and Lee School.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Roland and A. David Moquin.
Marilyn is survived by her son, Peter (Amanda) Choudry of Chatham; daughter, Ann-Maria Snehelata Moquin (Matt) England; grandchildren, Taylor Roach, Mya Mapes, Kaidence March, Maxwell Choudry, Brynnlee March, and Morgan Choudry; Goddaughter, Olivia Redpath; siblings, Raoul Moquin and Betty Anne Yost; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Prayer Service and Visitation: Prayers will begin at 3:45 p.m. on Monday, September 15, 2025, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield, with Fr. Al Kemme officiating. The Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center, following services.
