He was born on June 24, 1952, in Springfield, IL, the son of William and Mary (DeClerck) Amerson. Mark married Marybeth Harkness in 1976 in Mount Prospect, IL.
Mark graduated from Lanphier High School in 1970 and attended Western Illinois University. He went on to work for the State of Illinois, retiring in 2012. Mark coached baseball and was the steward of his family’s recreational land. He loved bass fishing, hunting, playing golf, and was a huge fan of the Chicago Cubs. Mark cherished his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Marta Amerson.
Mark is survived by his wife, Marybeth Amerson of Springfield; sons, Ryan (Megan) Amerson and Jeff (Linda Fenski) Amerson, both of Springfield, and Kyle (Jessica) Amerson of El Paso, TX; grandchildren, Colin, Kelsey, Brinley, Otto, Nicholas, Karter, Grayson, and Kaylub; siblings, Bill Amerson and Mary Beth Bartletti; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
The family will be planning a Memorial Celebration of Life at a later date.
