Mark Donald Hardy, 50, of Springfield, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center. He was born July 26, 1965, in Dayton, Ohio to Don and Gayle Walden Hardy. Mark was an independent semi-truck driver for 20 years. Mark is described by his family as a very loving and giving man, even offering the coat off his back to someone in need. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He will be greatly missed by his parents, Don and Gayle Hardy of Springfield; brother, David; sister Melodee (husband John) Chamberlain of Herrick, IL; children, Kara Hardy of Pleasant Plains and Chassidy, Chaz and Hannah; several aunts, uncles and cousins. His family will greet friends from 9am until the time of the funeral services at 11am, Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 Rt.4, Chatham, Illinois 62629. Reverend Dawn Stuemke will officiate. Burial will be at the Union Chapel Cemetery, near Girard. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor�s choice. Staab Polk Memorial Home is serving the Hardy family.
