

Mark A. Kenal, 57, of Springfield, passed away at 9:05 a.m. on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at his residence. Mark was born July 27, 1961 in Springfield, the son of Albert Kenal and Margo Speeks Barregarye. Mark was a dedicated security officer at Lincoln Library for 33 years. He enjoyed his work and built a special theme each year for the summer reading program at Lincoln Library. Mark was proud to have received a letter of recognition from the FBI for his help in the arrest of a wanted fugitive. He enjoyed working on trucks, cars, golf carts, and any projects in the garage. He is survived by his son, Jason Kenal of LaGrange, MO; daughter, Kylie Kenal; grandson, Konner Kenal; father, Albert Kenal; mother, Margo Barregarye; brother, Bob Kenal; two sisters, Karen Albert (Jeff Finfrock) and Leslie (Dana) Dinora; nieces, Jamie (Will) LaFauce, Stephanie Albert, Terri (Dave Williams) Albert; and great-nieces, Addison and Andie LaFauce. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. on Monday, October 29, 2018 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 29, 2018 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
