Mark S. West

Mark S. West, 51, of Dawson, died on Friday, March 28, 2008 at his home. Mark was born September 3, 1956 in Springfield, the son of Wilbur St. John and Anneliese Petitjean West. He married Patricia J. Gunderson on October 25, 1980 in Springfield. Mark was a graduate of Springfield High School, and served as an electrician in the U.S. Air Force from 1974 - 1975. He worked in the cable TV industry for twenty years before forming Westco, Inc., his own company specializing in directional boring. He was a member of I.B.E.W. Local 51. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Matthew Andrew West. He is survived by his wife, Patty West of Dawson; one son, Matthew Andrew West of Dawson; one daughter, Jessica Ann West of Springfield; five sisters, Mary Beth Workman of Chatham, Margaret (husband, Jim) Worthy of Dover, FL, Brenda (husband, Kim) Shirley and Carol West of Springfield, and Kathy (husband, Jim) Schuett of Urbana; one brother, William M. (wife, Kay) West of Springfield; mother-in-law, Gladys Gunderson of Springfield; sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna Bragg and Kathy Gunderson of Springfield, Mary Jane and Jerry Young of Indianapolis, IN, Linda and Don Mahoney of Ashland and Raymond Jones of Jacksonville; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Family will receive friends from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral ceremony will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery where the U.S. Department of Defense will conduct military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Miracle Network, P.O.
