He was born in Chicago on December 21, 1960, the son of Edward A. and Alta R. (Jones) Lockman. Markus married Sabrina Kirchgesner in Springfield on July 5, 2018.
Markus graduated from Fenger Academy in Chicago, IL. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines. In his free time, Markus enjoyed fishing and watching sports, especially the Chicago White Sox and Bears.
He was preceded in death by his father; stepmother, Mable Lockman; and two brothers.
Markus is survived by his wife, Sabrina; sons, Markus Lockman, Jr. of Chicago, Anthony Kirchgesner of Springfield, Tristan Lockman of Springfield, and Dominic Lockman of Springfield; daughter, Chanel (husband, Cordaro) Wilkerson of Georgia; grandchildren, Kevon Ramsey and Taron Williams; seven brothers; and six sisters.
Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Butler Funeral Home- Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or American Lung Association.
