Marta S. Amerson

Marta S. Amerson, 64, of Springfield, died at 7:55 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at her home. Marta was born August 17, 1953 in Springfield, the daughter of William and Mary DeClerck Amerson. Marta attended Lincoln Land Community College and Springfield College. She worked as a registered nurse for Memorial Medical Center for 30 years, and at Spine Works for the last 6 years. She enjoyed flower gardening, knitting, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father; and nephew, Andrew Bartletti. Marta is survived by her son, David (wife, Nancy) Amerson of Springfield; mother, Mary Amerson of Springfield; grandchildren, Will M. and Julia K. Amerson; siblings, Mary Beth (husband, Mike) Bartletti of Springfield, William (wife, Ellen) Amerson of Chatham, and Mark (wife, Marybeth) Amerson of Springfield; five nieces; four nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following ceremonies. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 23, 2018 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home.
